Local Choice: Why Your Village/Town Leadership Chose To Participate

Being a part of Rockland Community Power’s community choice program means taking control over your energy choices by using the collective energy demand of residents and small businesses to:

  1. Negotiate fixed electricity rates

  2. Choose renewable generation sources

Personal Choice: What Participation Means For You

All eligible residential and small business Orange & Rockland (O&R) customers are automatically enrolled in the Rockland Community Power’s electricity supply offering.

O&R will continue to:

  1. Deliver your electricity supply (sourced from electricity supplier Direct Energy)

  2. Provide repair service

  3. Manage billing—you’ll continue to receive your monthly electricity bill from—and remit payment to—O&R

Your Electicity Supply Options

The Villages of Grand View-On-Hudson and Haverstraw have a default supply option of 50% renewable electricity and an opt-up option of 100% renewable electricity.

The Villages of Nyack and Upper Nyack have a default supply option of 100% renewable electricity and an opt-down option of 50% renewable electricity.

To see the rate options available to you, visit: Rates

To change your supply option (opt-up or opt-down) or opt out of the program and receive standard electricity supply from O&R, visit: Enrollment/Change Form

Participants may withdraw from the program at any time without incurring fees or penalties.
